Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Physics.
• Experience with high-technology equipment and magnets.
• Proficiency in ANSYS; MATLAB or Python desirable.
• Knowledge of axis-symmetric and 3-D coil modelling.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in R&D teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop HTS magnet technology to support fusion and non-fusion projects.
• Collaborate with external partners to develop HTS magnet designs and models.
• Own mechanical development of magnet designs aligned to project objectives.
• Manage the mechanical materials database and material properties.
• Design prototype testing facilities to validate coil models.
• Interpret test results and produce clear written reports.
• Ensure magnet projects meet SMART objectives and timelines.
• Liaise with project managers and provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Support commercialisation of HTS magnet technology.
• Generate and document intellectual property.
