Job summary

Tokamak Energy Ltd is seeking a Magnet Engineer to join our growing magnet development team, leading the design of HTS magnets for fusion energy and commercial applications.

You will translate requirements into practical solutions, support prototype testing, and analyse results to drive design improvements while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineers. Hybrid role with onsite and home working.

Qualifications

Degree, MSc or PhD in Physics, Engineering or related discipline with post‑grad experience.
Experience with complex technical systems and superconducting magnets.
Understanding of electromagnetics, cryogenics or related fields.
Experience with modelling, simulation or technical analysis.

Responsibilities

Design and develop HTS magnets and magnetic coils.
Translate performance requirements into practical engineering solutions.
Support prototype development, testing and experimental campaigns.
Analyze test data and contribute to design improvements.
Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Develop software tools and analysis methods using MATLAB, Python or similar.
