Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd in East Anglia is seeking an experienced HSQE Advisor to support civil engineering and infrastructure projects. You will promote a positive HSQE culture and ensure compliance with UK law and company standards.

The role covers site inspections, audits, incident investigations, reporting, and coaching site teams in HSQE best practice. Essential: HSQE experience in civil engineering or construction, knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, and a full UK driving licence.

HSQE Advisor - Civil Engineering & Infrastructure

East Anglia

£48,000 - £60,000 + Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits

One of the UK's fastest-growing civil engineering and infrastructure contractors is seeking an experienced HSQE Advisor to support projects across East Anglia.

This is an opportunity to join a business delivering major infrastructure schemes across the water, utilities, energy and civil engineering sectors. Working closely with operational and project teams, you will be responsible for promoting a positive HSQE culture, ensuring compliance with legislation and company standards, and driving continuous improvement across multiple sites.

The Role
  • Support project delivery teams on all matters relating to health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and workplace assessments.
  • Monitor compliance with company procedures, industry standards and UK legislation.
  • Lead or assist with incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Produce reports, inspections and performance data for management teams.
  • Coach, mentor and support site management teams in the delivery of HSQE best practice.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture across projects.
  • Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of management systems and procedures.
  • Support environmental compliance and quality assurance activities across all stages of project delivery.
Requirements
Essential
  • Previous experience in an HSQE, SHEQ, HSEQ or Health & Safety Advisor role within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or construction.
  • Strong knowledge of current UK health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and engage operational teams at all levels.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
  • Experience working on water, utilities, energy or major infrastructure projects.
  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
  • Chartered status or working towards a relevant professional qualification.
