Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd is recruiting an HSQE Advisor to support major civil engineering and infrastructure projects across East Anglia. You will help promote a strong HSQE culture, ensure compliance with UK legislation, and drive continuous improvement across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates will have HSQE experience in civil engineering, NEBOSH qualification, and the ability to influence operational teams. The role offers a salary in the £48k–£60k range with car allowance and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Experience in HSQE/SHEQ/HSEQ within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or construction.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence and engage operational teams at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Support project delivery teams on health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and workplace assessments.
• Monitor compliance with company procedures, industry standards and UK legislation.

• Produce reports, inspections and performance data for management teams.
• Coach, mentor and support site management in HSQE best practice.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across projects.

• Support environmental compliance and quality assurance across all stages of project delivery.

One of the UK's fastest-growing civil engineering and infrastructure contractors is seeking an experienced HSQE Advisor to support projects across East Anglia.

This is an opportunity to join a business delivering major infrastructure schemes across the water, utilities, energy and civil engineering sectors. Working closely with operational and project teams, you will be responsible for promoting a positive HSQE culture, ensuring compliance with legislation and company standards, and driving continuous improvement across multiple sites.

The Role

• Support project delivery teams on all matters relating to health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.

Requirements

Essential

• Previous experience in an HSQE, SHEQ, HSEQ or Health & Safety Advisor role within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or construction.
• Strong knowledge of current UK health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence and engage operational teams at all levels.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• Experience working on water, utilities, energy or major infrastructure projects.
• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
• Chartered status or working towards a relevant professional qualification.
