Job summary

Health & Safety Manager role based in Warrington, with 50% on-site travel and a focus on highways, roadworks and civil engineering. The role drives safety performance, risk management and compliance with ISO standards.

Seeking a candidate with 10+ years of Health & Safety experience, NEBOSH cert, and the ability to lead a QHSE function across the business. A car package is included with a salary in the £50k–£60k range.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' Health & Safety experience, ideally in highways, roadworks, civil engineering or construction.
• Significant site-based Health & Safety management experience, with highways/roadworks exposure desirable.
• Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and ISO 45001:2018.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a positive Health & Safety culture across the business.
• Develop, implement and continually improve Health & Safety policies and safe systems of work.
• Provide practical Health & Safety advice to operational and site teams.
• Lead site inspections, audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Monitor compliance and communicate changes to clients and authorities.
• Manage risks associated with highways and roadworks, including traffic management and temporary works.
• Support managers, site teams and subcontractors to maintain high safety standards.
• Deliver Health & Safety training, briefings and toolbox talks.
• Lead the QHSE function and support Quality and Environmental systems.
