Job summary

Severn Trent is seeking a Health and Safety Technical Expert to help shape and maintain our safety culture across water, waste, and construction projects. Based from Coventry Head Office, you’ll provide specialist guidance on HSW, risk management, and regulatory compliance, influencing diverse teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Significant health & safety experience in utilities, construction or high-risk industries.
• Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and risk management.
• Member of IOSH or equivalent practical experience.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for health & safety compliance and technical standards.
• Develop and implement robust HSW strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Provide expert risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
• Support operations with technical safety guidance on complex challenges.
• Participate in audits to monitor compliance and drive improvements.
• Engage stakeholders to promote best practices and standards.
• Deliver safety training and coaching across the business.
