Job summary

ProTech Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Compliance Lead to implement a full management system across manufacturing operations, with a view to ISO certification and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the MD, you will design, roll out and embed procedures for risk assessments, COSHH, incident reporting, training and wellbeing initiatives, then hand over a fully embedded system to the Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent higher-level qualification).
• Chartered IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards Chartered status.
• Extensive HSE experience in manufacturing, engineering or construction.
• Experience implementing H&S Management Systems from the ground up.
• Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation.
• Experience with risk assessments, COSHH, PUWER, Working at Height and contractor management.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Experience delivering training and engaging employees at all levels.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the BrightSafe management system across operations.
• Carry out a comprehensive legal compliance review.
• Develop practical, easy-to-use management systems for office, factory and installation teams.
• Complete and maintain risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work.
• Implement inspection, audit and monitoring programmes.
• Establish accident, incident and near-miss reporting processes.
• Create and manage a comprehensive training and competency framework.
• Develop wellbeing and mental health initiatives across the business.
• Introduce regular Health & Safety Committee meetings and employee engagement programmes.
• Produce meaningful KPI dashboards for the Leadership Team.
• Support ISO 9001 and lay foundations for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Train managers to own H&S within their departments.
• Produce clear documentation and a structured handover to the Operations Manager.
