Job summary

Saab UK is seeking a proactive HSE lead to develop and drive health, safety and environmental management across the Fareham-based Seaeye underwater robotics unit. You will lead audits, ensure regulatory compliance and promote a strong HSE culture within a multi-site manufacturing environment.

The role requires 5–10 years in manufacturing/engineering, strong auditing capabilities, and knowledge of ISO9001/ISO14001/ISO45001, with a focus on continuous improvement and risk reduction.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Internal auditing experience.
• Experience with external accreditation bodies.
• In-depth knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001.
• Environmental management qualification (e.g., IEMA certificate).
• Ability to motivate, build teams and drive cultural change.
• Knowledge of offshore energy market (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and continuously improve HSE management systems, policies, standards and procedures across the organisation.
• Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, regulations, industry standards and customer requirements.
• Lead internal audits, inspections and compliance verification activities across all business functions.
• Provide expert HSE advice and support to managers, employees and project teams.
• Drive sustainability initiatives and embed environmental considerations throughout the product lifecycle.
