Astute is recruiting Health and Safety Advisors for projects across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. The roles offer a competitive salary with a benefits package and a November 2026 start.

Responsibilities include implementing safety plans, RAMS review, site inductions and addressing safety concerns on major EPC solar developments. Ideal candidates hold NEBOSH and First Aid qualifications, with strong communication skills and the ability to mentor site teams.

Formación

Responsabilidades

• Support site setup and ensure compliance with construction safety and welfare requirements.
• Help implement project safety plans, management systems and contractual HSE standards.
• Monitor site activities and subcontractor operations to promote safe working practices.
• Carry out site inspections and audits, supporting corrective actions where issues are identified.
• Assist with the preparation and review of RAMS.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, document findings and recommend preventative measures.
• Provide HSE guidance to project teams and promote a positive safety culture.
• Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks, identify training needs and competency gaps.
• Attend contractor meetings and assist with monthly HSE reporting.
• Depose for the HSE Site Supervisor when required.

Astute is partnering with a leading global EPC contractor delivering major utility scale solar developments across the East Midlands to recruit 3 Health and Safety Advisors for projects in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

These Health and Safety Advisor positions offer a competitive salary and company benefits, with a planned start date of November 2026.

Responsibilities and duties of the Health and Safety Advisor role

• Support site setup and ensure compliance with construction safety and welfare requirements.
• Help implement project safety plans, management systems and contractual HSE standards.
• Monitor site activities and subcontractor operations to promote safe working practices.
• Carry out site inspections and audits, supporting corrective actions where issues are identified.
• Assist with the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
• Investigate accidents and incidents, document findings and recommend preventative measures.
• Provide HSE guidance to project teams and help promote a positive safety culture.
• Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks, identifying training needs and competency gaps.
• Attend contractor meetings and assist with monthly HSE reporting.
• Deputise for the HSE Site Supervisor when required.

Professional qualifications

• NEBOSH qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Valid First Aid at Work certificate, including a three-day training course.
• SMSTS certification would be advantageous.

Personal skills

• Confident communicating safety guidance to site teams and subcontractors.
