Job summary

MTrec Ltd Technical in the engineering sector is recruiting a Health and Safety Officer to lead safety and health activity to the highest international standards.

You will assist with quality audits, root cause analysis, and implement NEBOSH and IOSH practices while driving cultural change and improving procedures.

You will ensure compliance with legislation, foster a zero-incident culture, and engage staff at all levels to reduce accidents and boost productivity.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH certification at minimum; IOSH preferred.
• Experience performing health and safety audits and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of environmental, health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Ability to engage employees at all levels to drive cultural change.

Our client is a market leader in the engineering sector; a period of growth has led to their requirement for a Health and Safety Officer

The Role

• Will lead Safety and Health activity, ensuring the highest international standards are in place, maintained and reviewed for improvement.
• Assisting with quality audits and assisting with root cause analysis.
• Implement practical knowledge of NEBOSH and IOSH.
• Drive cultural change and behaviour, demonstrating best practice.
• Improve the companies' Safety and Health procedures, standards and processes.
• Maintain compliance against latest legislative criteria.
• Ensure a zero accident/incident culture within Safety, Health and Environmental matters.
• Embrace methods to reduce accidents/incidents leading to increased health in the team leading naturally to improved productivity.
• Define Safety, Health and Environmental procedures in conjunction with staff.
• Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures.

The Person

• Will have experience in a similar role.
• Be qualified as a minimum to the NEBOSH and ideally IOSH.
• Desirable: audit experience against ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and AS9100
• Experience of environmental, health and safety in a similar organisation.
• Good understanding of health and safety legal obligations.
• Have an ability to engage employees at all levels.
