We are currently recruiting for a HSE Manager to join our client's team. This role will be based at their Nottingham office but will hold responsibility for sites across the UK, which you will be required to visit as needed.
Duties for the role will include:
- Advise, guide, and coach all personnel on the project with the implementation of the Health & Safety Management System.
- Support other enabling disciplines on projects such as Procurement, Design, Commercial, etc.
- Manage the company's Health & Safety and Wellbeing Policies and Procedures, along with statutory requirements, ensuring their implementation.
- Provide operational and functional management with advice on accident prevention, health, and the practical implementation of the company's HSE policies.
- Work with the operations team in preparing and developing the Health & Safety Plan and coordinate reviews as required.
- Lead the compilation and completion of client-led HSW metrics and quarterly reporting.
- Undertake site inspections as needed. Participate in company audits and inspections.
- Maintain the health and safety competency matrix of the scheme.
- Advise on the assessment and appointment of subcontractors.
- Assist with tenders and presentations to external bodies where necessary.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses, and other incidents as appropriate. Monitor and coordinate their close-out.
- Organise and deliver relevant training, including inductions.
We are looking for:
- Previous experience in a HSE role, ideally within the Rail, Civils, or Geotechnical sector.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate, NEBOSH General Certificate, or equivalent NVQ.
- Driving Licence.
