Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to support delivery of HSE strategy across MOD and social housing projects in East Anglia / Essex. The role involves site inspections, audits, and coaching of operational teams to improve safety culture in occupied environments.

Candidates should have NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, strong legislative knowledge, and a UK driving licence. GradIOSH/CMIOSH desirable.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate is required.
• Experience in construction, social housing, planned maintenance or building maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and compliance.
• Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills with ability to influence at all levels.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• GradIOSH or working towards CMIOSH desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of HSE strategy across MOD and social housing works.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and monitoring for compliance.
• Coach operational teams and subcontractors to improve safety culture.
• Lead and support incident investigations with effective corrective actions.
• Develop and improve HSE policies and management systems.
• Deliver toolbox talks and training sessions.
• Support ISO and UKAS managed systems compliance.
• Review RAMS and provide practical guidance to teams.
• Analyse HSE data and contribute to monthly reports and improvement plans.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders on HSE matters.
