Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an HSE Advisor for a 6-month contract in the Manchester area (Trafford Park/Salford). You will support the HSE Manager to ensure an effective HSE management system, promote a safe and healthy workplace, and maintain ISO 14001 compliance.

The role involves risk assessments, COSHH, incident investigations, training, and developing the HSE system on SharePoint, with site-wide involvement and KPI reporting.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience in Health & Safety, ideally in manufacturing.
• NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management or equivalent.
• ISO 14001 auditor trained.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act and related regulations.
• Able to compile statistics and maintain electronic/hard copy systems.
• Confident presenter for H&S training and toolbox talks.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance of health, safety, and environmental compliance across the business.
• Develop and maintain the Health & Safety system on SharePoint.
• Conduct risk assessments including COSHH and manual handling.
• Maintain MSDS documentation on SharePoint.
• Assist in producing Safe Systems of Work with departments.
• Support ISO 14001 audits and internal audits as required.
• Coordinate accident and incident investigations and recordkeeping on SharePoint.
• Identify hazards and help reduce risks.
• Provide H&S training and toolbox talks across the business.
• Keep up to date with HSE legislation and regulatory changes.

HSE Advisor 6 Month Contract Mon-Fri days, 37.5 hours Trafford Park / Salford

HSE Advisor The Role

To support the HSE Manager in ensuring the business operates an effective HSE management system to ensure a safe & healthy work environment for all employees which is in accordance with legal, HSE best practice guidelines, company policies and ISO 14001 certification requirements.

HSE Advisor Main Responsibilities

• Support the maintenance of health, safety, and environmental compliance across the business.
• Support the continued development of the Health & Safety system on the company’s SharePoint system.
• Conduct risk assessments, including COSHH and manual handling and support others conducting risk assessments.
• Support and help maintain the MSDS documentation on SharePoint.
• Assist in producing Safe Systems of Work in collaboration with departmental areas of the business.
• Assist to ensure continued ISO 14001 certification, including conducting internal ISO 14001 audits as required.
• Carry out and coordinate accident and incident investigations and manage documentation on SharePoint.
• Identify potential hazards and determine ways of helping to reduce risks.
• Support any health, safety & environmental improvement projects and initiatives.
• Keep up to date with current health, safety, and environmental legislation.
• Make presentations to groups and undertake Toolbox talks across the business.
• Provide Health & Safety training for all employees.
• Organise and attend health, safety & environmental meetings, and record minutes.
• Maintain safety records and prepare reports and compilation of KPI’s as required.
• Experience with PUWER risk assessments.

HSE Advisor The Candidate

• At least 3 years’ experience of Health & Safety , ideally in manufacturing

• Willing to deputise for HSE Manager in their absence.
