Job summary

Iconic Resourcing is delighted to be retained by Union Technical to appoint a HSE Advisor, supporting the continued growth of their business across Scotland. The role is based in the Thornliebank office with regular site inspections across Scotland, including the Highlands.

This advisory and compliance role focuses on inspections, audits, investigations, documentation and training, with a significant desk-based element.

Qualifications

• IOSH qualification as a minimum
• Health and safety experience gained in any industry sector
• Knowledge of risk assessments, incident investigations and compliance processes
• A good understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice
• Exposure to ISO 45001 management systems would be beneficial
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Full UK driving licence and happy to travel across Scotland, including the Highlands

Responsibilities

• Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety processes and procedures
• Conducting site inspections across Scotland locations including the Highlands
• Assisting with risk assessments, RAMS reviews and safe systems of work
• Supporting incident and accident investigations, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions
• Assisting with internal audits and compliance activities
• Maintaining health and safety records, documentation and reporting requirements
• Supporting the business in meeting ISO 45001 standards and best practice
• Delivering health and safety guidance, training and awareness initiatives
• Building positive working relationships with employees, site teams, managers and directors

The role is based in the Thornliebank office, with regular site inspections across Scotland, including the Highlands (currently around once a fortnight). It is an advisory and compliance role focused on inspections, audits, investigations, documentation and training, with a significant desk-based element.

The Role

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

• IOSH qualification as a minimum
• Health and safety experience gained in any industry sector
• Knowledge of risk assessments, incident investigations and compliance processes
• A good understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice
• Exposure to management systems such as ISO 45001, or an understanding of their importance would be beneficial
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• The confidence to challenge when required while maintaining positive working relationships
• A collaborative, pragmatic and approachable style
• A full UK driving licence and happy to travel across Scotland, including the Highlands, as required
