Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection (HSDU) Technician for the County site, with occasional duties at Royal Stoke. The role offers flexible shift patterns and requires on‑call and weekend work as part of the rota.

No prior experience is necessary as full in‑house training is provided and you will join a team focused on patient safety and high standards in instrument processing.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have a Good standard of education with literacy and numeracy skills and have basic computer skills as the position involves daily use of a pc.

Responsibilities

• Sterilisation and disinfection of surgical instruments and delivery back to operating theatres, wards, departments, clinics and GP surgeries.
• Work across two sites (County site and Royal Stoke) with flexible shift patterns including nights, weekends and on‑call requirements.
• Full in-house training provided; no prior experience required.
• Read and follow written instructions and perform routine tests as part of the interview process.
