Job summary

Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an HSDU Assistant Technician to support sterile goods and services for internal and external customers. Training will be provided to achieve proficiency in production, distribution, and stock control within the HSDU department.

The role emphasizes teamwork, compliance with quality standards, and ongoing development. Applicants should be capable of learning equipment operation and supporting senior staff across the unit.

Qualifications

• GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C or above in Maths and English
• Willing to undertake departmental qualification and any other training as required

Responsibilities

• To prepare goods and services for customers utilising all areas in department
• To assist with distribution of sterile and clean supplies to theatre, wards and other departments
• To undertake operation of equipment e.g. Washer disinfectors and sterilisers
• Be receptive to training and development
• To assist with stores handling and stock control
• Give support to senior departmental staff
• To contribute to an effective, motivated and competent workforce and comply with high quality standards
• To comply with current systems for recording, collation, monitoring and feedback of appropriate information
• To monitor and control Production within HSDU, ensuring that all priority requests and contractual turnaround times are adhered to.
• To ensure that both the Trust & Departmental Values and Behaviours are adhered to at all times by all members of staff within the HSDU Department.
• Previous experience of working within a Sterile Services Department is desirable but not essential as full training will be given
