Job summary

VVB Engineering is seeking an experienced Head of Health, Safety and Environment to lead the HSE function across its HS2 projects. You will provide leadership, advice and support at tender, design, construction, T&C and handover stages and act as the HSE focal point for HS2 customers.

You will develop and implement the HSE strategy, recruit and develop the HS2 HSE teams, oversee IMS, ISO compliance, and report on trends.

Qualifications

• Degree and/or NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
• CMIOSH membership preferred.
• Senior SHEQ leadership experience with a delivery function.
• Experience in Infrastructure environments across multiple schemes.
• Developed and implemented programmes in Environment, Quality and Sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the HSE function for VVB’s HS2 portfolio across tender, design, construction, T&C and handover.
• Act as HSE Focal point for HS2 customers.
• Foster a safety-first ethos and ensure health and environment protection across all activities.
• Participate in the Safety and Project Support Services Leadership Team for VVB.
• Recruit, lead and develop the VVB HS2 HSE teams.
• Develop, implement and measure the VVB HS2 Safety, Health and Environment strategy.
