Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking an HS&E Advisor to support its Framework HS&E Manager and drive excellence across health, safety and environmental performance. You’ll promote best practice, assist operational teams and help deliver industry-leading standards across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.

This role requires NEBOSH certification, a full UK driving licence, and willingness to travel the UK. You’ll engage with clients and regulators while promoting a proactive safety culture and

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate, or currently working towards.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to travel across UK projects.
• Membership of IOSH or IIRSM (TechIOSH minimum).
• CMIOSH or working towards Chartered status.
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma (or above) in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in water sector or regulated infrastructure.
• Knowledge of HS&E reporting and data analytics systems.
• Relevant HS&E experience in construction, infra or utilities.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of Health, Safety & Environment strategy across projects.
• Provide practical HS&E advice and technical guidance to site teams.
• Carry out site inspections, audits and ISO 14001 reviews.
• Prepare monthly HS&E reports and present findings to senior leadership.
• Promote a positive safety culture and best practice across the business.
• Assist with Construction Phase Plans, risk assessments & method statements.
• Manage onboarding of supply chain partners for HS&E compliance.
• Escalate significant concerns and drive continuous improvement.

The Role

We're looking for an HS&E Advisor to support our Framework HS&E Manager in driving excellence across health, safety and environmental performance.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support the implementation of our Health, Safety & Environment strategy across projects.
• Promote a positive safety culture aligned with Galliford Try's Challenging Beliefs and Affecting Behaviours programme.
• Provide practical HS&E advice and technical guidance to operational and site teams.
• Support the implementation and continual improvement of our HS&E Management System.
• Carry out site inspections, audits and compliance reviews, including ISO 14001 audits.
• Assist project teams with Construction Phase Plans, Emergency Response Plans, risk assessments and method statements.
• Investigate incidents and non-conformities, identifying root causes and driving improvements.
• Monitor HS&E performance, analyse KPIs and support continual improvement initiatives.
• Prepare monthly reports and present findings to senior leadership.
• Engage with clients, supply chain partners, regulators and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Deliver HS&E training, awareness sessions and best practice guidance across the business.
• Support the onboarding and management of supply chain partners where required.
• Escalate significant HS&E concerns appropriately and work collaboratively to resolve issues.

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to travel across projects throughout the UK.
• Membership of IOSH or IIRSM (TechIOSH minimum).
• CMIOSH or working towards Chartered status.
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma (or above) in a relevant discipline.
• Experience within the water sector or other regulated infrastructure environments.
• Knowledge of HS&E reporting and data analytics systems.
