Job summary

Galliford Try's Environment division is seeking an HS&E Advisor to support the Framework HS&E Manager across UK projects. You will promote best practice, provide practical HS&E guidance to site teams, and help deliver industry-leading health, safety and environmental standards.

You will carry out audits, contribute to the HS&E Management System, investigate incidents, analyse KPIs and deliver training while engaging with clients and supply chains. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (or currently working towards).
  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel.
  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, utilities or similar.
  • Knowledge of HS&E reporting and data analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of our Health, Safety & Environment strategy across projects.
  • Promote a positive safety culture aligned with Galliford Try's Challenging Beliefs and Affecting Behaviours programme.
  • Provide practical HS&E advice and technical guidance to operational and site teams.
  • Support the implementation and continual improvement of our HS&E Management System.
  • Carry out site inspections, audits and compliance reviews, including ISO 14001 audits.
  • Assist project teams with Construction Phase Plans, Emergency Response Plans, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Investigate incidents and non-conformities, identifying root causes and driving improvements.
  • Monitor HS&E performance, analyse KPIs and support continual improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare monthly reports and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Engage with clients, supply chain partners, regulators and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Deliver HS&E training, awareness sessions and best practice guidance across the business.
  • Support the onboarding and management of supply chain partners where required.
  • Escalate significant HS&E concerns appropriately and work collaboratively to resolve issues.

The Role

We're looking for an HS&E Advisor to support our Framework HS&E Manager in driving excellence across health, safety and environmental performance.

What We're Looking For

  • NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (or currently working towards).
  • Good understanding of HS&E management systems, legislation and risk management.
  • Experience supporting environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to travel across projects throughout the UK.
  • Membership of IOSH or IIRSM (TechIOSH minimum).
  • CMIOSH or working towards Chartered status.
  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma (or above) in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience within the water sector or other regulated infrastructure environments.
  • Knowledge of HS&E reporting and data analytics systems.
