Confidential Jobs is seeking an Interim HR Transformation Lead in Manchester City Centre to own a high‑priority change programme. The role focuses on delivering an outsourced payroll model, accelerating HR system delivery and establishing a robust shared-services operation.

You will work across HR, payroll, finance, technology and external partners to drive controlled change at pace while maintaining employee continuity.

Qualifications

• Proven delivery of an outsourced payroll implementation.
• Strong track record implementing HR systems at pace (data migration, testing, integrations, go-live).
• Experience establishing or leading HR shared services in a changing organisation.
• Ownership of complex HR transformation from assessment through stabilisation.
• Experience managing external suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end transition to an outsourced payroll service, from requirements and supplier mobilisation through testing, cutover and stabilisation.
• Drive implementation of a new HR system, coordinating design decisions, data migration, integrations, testing, training and go-live readiness.
• Design and embed an efficient HR shared-services model, including service scope, processes, ownership, service levels, controls and escalation routes.
• Assess programme status, confirm priorities, dependencies and risks, and establish a delivery plan with accountable owners.
• Coordinate internal teams and third-party providers, challenge slippage and resolve issues affecting delivery, payroll accuracy or employee experience.
• Implement governance with milestones, decisions, risk reporting and progress updates for senior stakeholders.
• Ensure data, process, security and compliance requirements are addressed throughout implementation.
• Manage business readiness and change activity, including communications, training and handover into business-as-usual.
