Job summary

Staffordshire County Council seeks a Service and System Improvement Adviser to support payroll and HR systems during the Oracle ERP implementation. You will analyze data, map processes, test changes, and develop user guides to enhance HR services.

Based in Stafford with hybrid working, the role requires two office days weekly and occasional extra days during peak times. Strong Excel skills and HR system experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a HR/payroll environment with hands-on use of HR/payroll IT systems.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to manipulate data using Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to provide clear, informed advice on pay and HR matters.
• Experience supporting HR processes, system implementations, or improvement projects.
• Proficiency in process mapping and re-engineering to drive efficiency.
• Analytical mindset with experience reviewing HR data, legislation, and opportunities for improvement.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support payroll/ERP changes including HR process mapping, testing, guides and training.
• Data analysis using Excel for data validation and transferring data to ERP.
• Investigate and resolve HR/payroll queries or system issues using HR knowledge.
• Support on process improvement to deliver efficient HR services.
• Be the HR systems expert; assist employees and managers with HR/payroll actions.
• Collaborate with external payroll provider and internal teams on payments.
