An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of HR Advisor within the StrategicHR team.

We are looking for an individual who will be able to fit quickly into our team and can offer either a range of HR experience and knowledge, or specific HR knowledge and skills. You will be joining a well-established, committed and friendly team with a mandate to develop and support the implementation of modern and creative HR activities.
The role is diverse and key to the successful delivery of our HR strategy. In return for your commitment there will be the opportunity for you to grow and develop, supporting the HR Lead and Strategic HR Manager in changing culture and practice.
This role requires strategic thinking, exceptional analytical skills, a business partnering approach, along with the ability to apply these in the development of diverse and inclusive HR policy and strategy. You will need to practically apply these when advising service areas.
You must be able to manage a busy workload and frequently adapt to changing priorities along with a capacity to respond with pace to changes in legislation and an ever shifting environment. You must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of employment law as well as being able to apply your knowledge in the effective development of policy and process and advice to managers. You will be able to write skillfully and concisely and be a competent user of the Microsoft Office suite.
The aptitude to absorb and manipulate qualitative and quantitative data / metrics and translate into meaningful information will also be a key skill for the successful candidate. We are looking for someone with excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, including the ability to effectively manage a variety of relationships including senior managers and trade union colleagues. Along with your colleagues you will be required to contribute to business development systems, tools, and process improvement initiatives.
We are looking for someone with proven experience of working in a Trade Union environment and with a Level 5 CIPD qualification or equivalent experience. You will be an experienced HR professional who thrives on developing policy and strategy, coaching managers and has a positive impact on the organisation. Whilst experience of working with local government terms and conditions or school/academy HR experience would be desirable, we are interested in hearing from you whatever your HR background.
