Job Overview

Do you have experience working in an operational HR role where no two days are the same? Are you self-motivated, able to use your own judgement, and provide sound support to colleagues at various levels? If yes, then this role is for you.

People are at the centre of all we do. Your role will be varied and fast-paced, with learning opportunities along the way. As part of a large team of HR professionals, we strive to provide high-quality support to approximately 6,500 employees across UKRI by working together and supporting each other.

You will be joining UKRI at an exciting time as we prepare to launch our new HR, Reporting, Accounting, and Procurement System. This system will enhance functionality and streamline processes to enable employees and managers to self-serve HR-related inquiries.

Our team is based across several locations. We support a hybrid working environment and encourage our team to work from home three days a week, with the remaining days spent on-site collaborating with HR team members.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage day-to-day queries, providing professional, timely, accurate, and robust advice and guidance to managers and staff in accordance with the HR delegation framework on a wide range of HR topics, including pay, attendance, working patterns, and performance management. Provide advice on policies and assist with form completion as appropriate.
  2. Support or manage casework related to sickness absence, performance management, disciplinary, and grievance cases.
  3. Work closely with colleagues in HR Operations, Strategic HR Business Partners, and HR Centres of Expertise to deliver a consistent and integrated HR service across the organization.
  4. Build effective working relationships with managers, staff, and HR colleagues to support the development and maintenance of best practice policies and procedures.
