Hampstead School is seeking a skilled HR Officer to support the HR Manager in delivering a professional operational HR service. You will act as the primary HR contact for managers and staff on routine employee relations and people management issues, and handle day-to-day operations including recruitment and HR administration.
This role requires proven HR operations experience, a good understanding of UK employment law, attention to detail and a commitment to safeguarding.
We are seeking a skilled HR professional, with a collaborative and approachable working style who brings string understanding and hands-on experience of applying employment law and managing employee relations casework.
The HR Officer will support the HR Manager with the delivery of a high-quality, professional operational HR service, acting as the primary HR contact for managers and staff on routine employee relations and people management issues. The appointed candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operations, including end-to-end recruitment, employee relations administration, absence management, and HR database systems. They will take responsibility for the accurate maintenance of our Single Central Record (SCR) and will partner with leaders across the school, offering practical, solutions-focussed advice in line with safer recruitment guidelines and school policies.
Proven experience in HR operations - ideally within an educational or similarly complex setting is essential, alongside the confidence to handle sensitive situations with complete professionalism, empathy and discretion. Exceptional attention to detail, a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and strong knowledge of UK employment law are essential to succeeding in our team.
Hours Per Week: 14 hours per week
Weeks Per Year: 39 weeks per year - Term Time Only
Salary Grade: SO1
Actual Annual Salary: £14474
