Socrates Recruitment is partnering with a prestigious educational establishment based in OX2 to appoint an HR Manager. You will lead HR strategy, compliance and operations across the school, advising senior leaders and ensuring data-driven people practices.

The role covers recruitment, workforce planning across academic and overseas programmes, employee relations, safeguarding, HR systems and reporting, and staff wellbeing initiatives. Salary up to £47k plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree or CIPD LV5+ in HR.
• Experience in HR in a service-focused environment.
• Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and safer recruitment.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Experience advising senior leaders on complex people matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR strategy aligned with wider objectives and ensure an efficient HR service.
• Recruitment and workforce planning across academic, support and overseas programmes.
• Manage employee relations and foster a high-trust culture.
• Oversee safeguarding and compliance (safer recruitment, UKVI, policy governance).

HR Manager

My client, a prestigious educational establishment, based in OX2 has an exciting opportunity to join their team as HR Manager.

In this busy and varied role, working closely with the Financial Director, you will lead HR strategy, compliance and operations across the school. You will be the trusted expert colleagues turn to for guidance, clarity and support.

The successful candidate will be entitled to a salary of £42-47k, alongside a generous benefits package.

The Role

• Lead the HR Strategy aligned with wider business objectives, ensuring a coherent, efficient and forward-thinking HR service
• Recruitment and workforce planning across academic, support and overseas programmes, ensuring an excellent candidate experience
• Employee relations, resolving sensitive issues and fostering a high trust culture
• Safeguarding and compliance such as safer recruitment, SCR oversight, UKVI requirements and policy governance
• HR systems and reporting ensuring data integrity, insight and operational excellence
• Wellbeing, inclusion and engagement through initiatives and staff feedback mechanisms

The Ideal Candidate

• Degree appropriate to HR or CIPD LV5 or above
• Experience in a similar HR role in a service focused environment (Experience in working in an educational establishment is desirable)
• Excellent knowledge of UK employment law, safer recruitment and HR best practice
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Experience in advising senior leaders on complex people matters
