Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a proactive HR Manager for our Manchester site. You will lead HR matters, coach managers on policies, and oversee ER cases while ensuring payroll is managed efficiently and HR data complies with statutory requirements.

You will drive the on-site HR KPI’s, support the People agenda, and manage union relations. This full-time role requires CIPD level 5 and strong HDL in a logistics environment.

Qualifications

• ER caseload management experience.
• Ability to communicate across all levels and with stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Previous experience in union environment and employment law knowledge.
• Experience in transport and logistics industry is desirable.

Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a HR Manager to join our Mars Snacking team in Manchester and providing support to 2 further sites.

As a HR Lead, you will be responsible for advising on ER cases, ensuring all policies & procedures are adhered to, coaching and supporting Managers in all aspects of people management, together with overseeing payroll processes on site, alongside ensuring the HR data is managed and processed in line with GXO and statutory requirements.

The role is also responsible for the on-site management of the HR KPI's. This is a full-time, permanent role, predominantly working Monday to Friday, 08:00 till 16:00, however, flexibility is required as per logistics needs.

What you'll do on a typical day as a HR Manager

• Lead on all HR related matters for the site
• Coach and develop people managers on HR processes and policies, supporting them with complex ER cases, absence management, and performance management
• Accurately manage HR KPI's on site, including absence, headcount, and other key metrics
• Lead & develop the onsite People agenda
• Implement and maintain efficient HR processes & Continuous Improvement initiatives within the HR department
• Provide advice and guidance to colleagues onsite
• Manage union relations and ER caseload, offering advice and support
• Coach and train Managers and Supervisors on HR matters, processes, and policies

What you need to succeed at GXO

• CIPD level 5 qualification
• Previous experience within a union environment and ER caseload management experience
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels and with stakeholders
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
• Previous experience in the transport and logistics industry is highly desirable
• Up-to-date knowledge or understanding of employment law
