Job summary

MCS Group is seeking an HR Manager to own the people function across multi-site operations in Northern Ireland. This permanent role blends hands-on delivery with strategic input, reporting to senior leadership to shape a compliant, high-performing HR function.

You will lead policy development, employee relations, recruitment, and rewards, building HR structures from scratch and driving culture, engagement, and retention.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior HR role.
• Strong working knowledge of Northern Ireland employment law.
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law is advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex ER issues.
• Experience building or improving HR structures, processes, or functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the HR function.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership across all HR matters.
• Manage and lead on complex employee relations cases.
• Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
• Drive improvements across onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes.
• Lead recruitment and workforce planning across the business.
• Support organisational design, structures, and job frameworks.
• Deliver a compensation & benefits review to ensure market competitiveness.
• Drive initiatives to improve employee engagement, culture, and retention.
