Job summary

A&O Shearman in London is seeking a seasoned HR Generalist to provide high-level operational support and strategic HR guidance within the Finance & ENRI practice groups. You will act as a trusted advisor and partner across the London team to deliver an integrated HR offering.

You will manage day-to-day HR issues, support talent development, performance management, inclusion initiatives, and wellbeing programs, while ensuring payroll and HR systems run smoothly in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Proven HR experience within a professional services environment.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
• Knowledge of current employment law, especially around performance management.
• Experience using HR systems (PeopleSoft) and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level HR operational support to the Finance & ENRI practice groups in London.
• Deliver fully integrated HR advisory services as a trusted partner.
• Manage day-to-day HR issues including maternity/paternity leave, flexible working, and absence reporting.
• Support salary and bonus reviews and payroll checks.
• Coordinate talent discussions, development programs, and inclusion initiatives.
• Assist with onboarding/offboarding and HR data reporting.
