HR Coordinator

We operate 24/7 and as such you are required to work flexible hours, weekends and participate in an on-call rota. Reporting to the Head of People, the HR Coordinator will be responsible for delivery of a full range ofhuman resource services. One of your main roles will be to provide expert professional advice and support to managers and employees on all aspects of people management, which fully reflects current employment legislation and best practice.

Location: Guildford Office, Durrington (Guildford, Surrey); Please note this role is in office only

Job Type:permanent, full-time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours (8:30am-5pm)

Salary: Competitive, depending upon experience

About the Role:

Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our People Team, working on our Logistics Management Contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to people-oriented problems.

  • Work closely with line managers and employees, providing them with expert guidance, coaching and support on a range of HR activities in order to ensure a consistent and fair approach to people management.
  • End to end administrative support to the HR team. This includes processing new starters, change of details and leavers on to the HR database.
  • Ensure that references are obtained and completed for previous employees applying for a new job.
  • Provide general advice to employees and line managers on administrative issues connected with absence, holidays, maternity / paternity and general HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide efficient,effective and accurate support to the HR process by ensuring accurate administration and achievement of deadlines through thorough accuracy and diligence checks.
  • Provide data and reports to the management team as required, including monthly sickness and absence reports.
  • Supporting the HR department in conducting investigations particularly in relation to sickness and timekeeping concerns.
  • Producing probation, investigation and disciplinary outcome letters.
  • Supportingthe Talent Acquisition Specialist with recruitment activities.
  • Oversee the onboarding and induction processes in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition Specialist.
  • Updating and maintaining the HR Information System data.
  • Producing probation, investigation and disciplinary outcome letters.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports and information to the Company’s benefit providers ensure that all starters, leavers and grade changes are captured.
  • Assist in the implementation of employee engagement and well-being initiatives.
  • Ensure that all new starter documentation is returned and recorded on to the HR database.
  • Provide administrative and generalist support to the HR team as requested.
  • Conduct training sessions for managers and aspiring leaders.
  • Respond to ad hoc HR queries on a day-to-day basis.
  • Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them.
  • Embrace and promote Lanes Group values and culture.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects, tasks or duties as and when required or requested by the Senior Leadership Team.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have effective organisation skills and the ability to multitask and prioritise your workload is important. Having strong interpersonal, relationship building, networking skills and communication is crucial to the role as is having a professional demeanour to engage with all stakeholders. Being proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and strong attention to detail is imperative. Adaptability and flexibility is key.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • CIPD Level 3 or higher (or equivalent qualification) will be beneficial
  • A full UK drivers licence is essential as you will have to travel to depots on our network
