Job summary

Brellis Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced HR Consultant for a 6-month fixed-term contract at our Coventry site, working on-site with managers and employees across the site.

The role focuses on employee relations, attendance, performance and day-to-day people matters, with emphasis on a manufacturing environment. You will be the visible HR presence on site, supporting recruiting ramp-up and HR processes while ensuring compliance with UK employment law.

Qualifications

• Experience as HR generalist in a fast-paced manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience in HR Consultant, HR Advisor, HR Business Partner, or similar generalist HR role.
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation and employee relations.
• Experience supporting disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management processes.
• Experience working directly with operational, production or shop-floor teams.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers, supervisors and employees.
• Supporting ramp-up hiring requirements - interview support, chasing onboarding documents etc.
• Work closely with production and operational teams to provide practical HR support.
• Manage and support employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence matters.
• Advise managers on attendance, performance and conduct issues.
• Support managers through formal HR processes, ensuring company procedures and UK employment legislation are followed.
• Manage the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding through to probation, development and offboarding.
• Support workforce planning and recruitment activity across the manufacturing site.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
• Support the implementation and review of HR policies and procedures.
• Assist with employee engagement, wellbeing and development initiatives.
• Monitor attendance and other relevant HR metrics, providing reports and insight to management.
• Build strong working relationships with employees and managers across all levels of the site.
• Ensure HR practices remain compliant with current UK employment legislation.
• Keep up to date with changes in employment law and HR best practice.
• Support wider HR projects and initiatives as required.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced HR Consultant to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for the contract to be extended.

Based at our busy manufacturing site in Coventry, this is a hands‑on, site‑based HR role working closely with managers, supervisors and employees across the organisation.

You will provide practical HR advice and support across the full employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on employee relations, attendance, performance and supporting managers with day‑to‑day people matters.

We are specifically looking for someone with previous HR experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment who understands the demands of working within a fast‑paced, operational setting.

This is a fully on‑site position, so you’ll be a visible and approachable HR presence across the manufacturing site.

About You

You will be an experienced HR generalist who is comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing or engineering environment.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in an HR Consultant, HR Advisor, HR Business Partner or similar generalist HR role.
• Previous HR experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential.
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation and employee relations.
• Experience supporting disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management processes.
• Experience working directly with operational, production or shop‑floor teams.
• The confidence to provide HR advice to managers at all levels.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A practical, hands‑on approach to HR.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider HR function.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience is desirable.

This role would suit an HR professional who enjoys being on the shop floor rather than behind a desk and who understands the realities of supporting a manufacturing workforce.

You’ll need to be approachable, pragmatic and confident dealing with a wide range of employee and management issues.

Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment is essential, and experience of working within a unionised environment would be advantageous.

What We Offer
