Job summary

Cummins Mellor is seeking a people-focused HR Business Partner to join their team in West Yorkshire. This generalist role provides practical advice, coaching and support across employee relations, policy development, recruitment, L&D and engagement.

You will partner with managers, shape people practices, and ensure legal compliance while fostering a positive working culture. CIPD Level 5 and UK employment law knowledge are preferred, with strong communication and a proactive, data-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Broad generalist HR background with experience across ER, recruitment, policy and people management.
• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent, with practical HR experience.
• Sound understanding of UK employment law.
• Experience working with managers across teams or departments.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Coaching mindset and proactive, solutions-focused approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and digital capabilities.
• Experience in learning and development or policy development is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• HR Business Partnering: Building trusted relationships with managers, providing advice and guidance across the employee lifecycle.
• Employee Relations: Supporting managers with performance, absence, conduct and capability issues, ensuring fair, compliant advice.
• Coaching and Development: Coaching managers to build confidence and capability.
• Recruitment and Selection: Supporting recruitment processes from attraction to appointment.
• Learning and Development: Identifying training needs and delivering learning initiatives.
• Policies and Procedures: Contributing to review, development and implementation of HR policies.
• People Data and Reporting: Maintaining data and identifying trends.
• Culture and Engagement: Supporting a positive, values-led working environment.
