Montpellier Resourcing Associates Ltd. is recruiting an HR Assistant Manager with strong learning and development experience to support the Head of HR across a wide remit. The role combines training leadership with day-to-day HR generalist duties within a four-person HR team, with hybrid work (4 days in office, 1 day WFH).

You will lead on training and talent while supporting ESG objectives, offering ownership and visibility within a focused bank HR function.

Qualifications

  • Educated to Degree or above.
  • Qualified CIPD Level 3 or 5.
  • 6 to 8 years of HR experience, with a background as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist.
  • Experience facilitating training courses.
  • Experience in banking or financial services is essential.
  • Working knowledge of UK employment law.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on training and talent development across departments.
  • Deliver bank-wide induction and ongoing staff development programmes.
  • Provide day-to-day HR generalist support and ensure timely HR services.
  • Update HR policies and contribute to governance (Staff Handbook, Remuneration Policy).
  • Support ECs and ESG initiatives with staff engagement and events.
  • Assist with compliance reporting and SMR-related tasks.

Up to £60,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits

Hybrid working (4 days in the office and 1 day WFH)

Our client is an established international bank with a UK presence. Due to exciting business growth, we are looking for an HR Assistant Manager with strong learning and development experience to support the Head of HR across a varied remit.

You will join an HR team of four, working closely with the Head of HR and the HR Associate. You will lead on training and talent, alongside day-to-day HR generalist work, and support the Bank's ESG objectives. In a team this size, you will have real ownership and visibility.

Key Responsibilities of the HR Business Partner to include:
Learning and Development
  • Carry out training needs analysis with department heads and produce a bank-wide training plan
  • Design and deliver bespoke training that meets business and departmental needs
  • Make sure staff complete Head Office and local e-learning on time
  • Deliver the Bank's induction programme to new joiners and keep the materials current
  • Train staff on performance management and appraisal processes
  • Manage relationships with external training suppliers
  • Lead talent identification and succession planning with department heads
Process
  • Deliver accurate, timely and cost-effective HR services, and manage HR data and systems professionally
  • Work with the Head of HR to update HR-owned policies, including the Staff Handbook, Remuneration Policy, Code of Conduct and Senior Managers Regime policies
  • Support the annual performance review cycle, including salary increases, promotions and special salary adjustments
  • Assist with tasks linked to the Senior Managers Regime (SMR)
  • Complete monthly compliance reports on training and ESG, plus any other reports required by management and Head Office
  • Lead the data collection for the annual Group Training and ESG report
Customer
  • Give HR advice and support to staff at all levels, explaining policies and procedures clearly
  • Advise line managers on employee relations cases, including probation reviews, settlement agreements, grievances and disciplinary matters
  • Help run staff benefits, programmes and events
  • Support pension administration
  • Champion ESG across the Bank, and design and run ESG events with charity partners to encourage staff participation
Compliance and Risk
  • Comply with all applicable regulations, codes and Bank standards, and act with integrity
  • Follow risk control procedures to identify, assess, report and mitigate risk in day-to-day work
  • Help ensure the Bank meets FCA and PRA requirements, including SMCR and GDPR
Requirements for the successful HR Business Partner to include:
  • Educated to Degree or above
  • Qualified CIPD Level 3 or 5
  • 6 to 8 years of HR experience, with a background as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist
  • Experience facilitating training courses
  • Experience in banking or financial services is essential
  • Working knowledge of UK employment law
Desirable qualifications include:
  • Experience developing an organisation-wide training needs analysis
  • Exposure to the Senior Managers Regime and remuneration regulation
  • Experience writing policies and procedures
