HR Business Partner

Location: Kidderminster, Worcestershire (with occasional travel to Lancashire)

Salary: £43,300 – £52,600 per annum

Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Think FE is recruiting an experienced and proactive HR Business Partner to join a well-established further education college in Worcestershire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident HR professional to make a meaningful impact within a supportive, people-focused educational environment.

Working closely with senior leaders and managers, you will provide strategic and operational HR advice, support organisational development and help deliver positive outcomes for colleagues and the wider college community. The role is primarily based in Kidderminster, with travel to a college site in West Lancashire approximately 2–3 days per month. Travel and any required overnight accommodation expenses can be claimed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert HR guidance and advice to managers and senior leaders on a wide range of employee relations matters.
  • Managing complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance management and capability procedures.
  • Supporting organisational change, restructures, TUPE transfers and workforce planning.
  • Advising on employment legislation, HR policies and best practice to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Developing positive working relationships with senior leadership teams, managers and trade union representatives.
  • Supporting recruitment, retention and wider workforce development initiatives.
  • Contributing to HR policies, procedures and organisational development projects.
  • Using HR data, reports and workforce metrics to identify trends and support informed decision-making.
  • Supporting managers with people management matters, including guidance, coaching and training.
  • Substantial experience in a generalist HR role, ideally operating at HR Business Partner or senior HR advisory level.
  • Strong experience managing complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance and performance management.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, including restructures, TUPE or similar projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience developing, implementing and interpreting HR policies and procedures.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Confidence working independently, managing competing priorities and providing commercially focused HR advice.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret HR data and management information.
