Job summary

Think FE Ltd is recruiting an experienced HR Business Partner to join a Worcestershire college. The role is based in Kidderminster, with travel to a West Lancashire site about 2–3 days per month; travel expenses can be claimed.

You will deliver strategic and operational HR support to senior leaders, focusing on employee relations, organisational development and workforce planning to achieve positive outcomes for colleagues and the college community.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
• Substantial generalist HR experience at BP/ senior advisory level.
• Proven track record in employee relations, TUPE and change projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR policies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities independently and provide commercial HR advice.
• Strong analytical skills and use of HR data for decision making.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert HR guidance to managers and senior leaders on employee relations matters.
• Manage complex employee relations cases (discipline, grievance, attendance, performance).
• Support organisational change, restructures, TUPE transfers and workforce planning.

Working closely with senior leaders and managers, you will provide strategic and operational HR advice, support organisational development and help deliver positive outcomes for colleagues and the wider college community.

The role is primarily based in Kidderminster, with travel to a college site in West Lancashire approximately 2–3 days per month. Travel and any required overnight accommodation expenses can be claimed.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing expert HR guidance and advice to managers and senior leaders on a wide range of employee relations matters.
• Managing complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance management and capability procedures.
• Supporting organisational change, restructures, TUPE transfers and workforce planning.
• Advising on employment legislation, HR policies and best practice to ensure compliance and consistency.
• Developing positive working relationships with senior leadership teams, managers and trade union representatives.
• Supporting recruitment, retention and wider workforce development initiatives.
• Contributing to HR policies, procedures and organisational development projects.
• Using HR data, reports and workforce metrics to identify trends and support informed decision-making.
• Supporting managers with people management matters, including guidance, coaching and training.

Essential requirements:

• CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
• Substantial experience in a generalist HR role, ideally operating at HR Business Partner or senior HR advisory level.
• Strong experience managing complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance and performance management.
• Experience supporting organisational change, including restructures, TUPE or similar projects.
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience developing, implementing and interpreting HR policies and procedures.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
• Confidence working independently, managing competing priorities and providing commercially focused HR advice.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret HR data and management information.
