Job description

People Business Partner

Contract: Full-time, Permanent (38.75 hours per week)

Location: Regional, covering East and the South West of the UK. (Hybrid, at least 3 days travelling to branches across various locations)

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum + £4,500 Annual Car Allowance

The Role

We are seeking an experienced People Business Partner to provide strategic and operational HR support across our funeral branches in the East and South West regions of the UK. Reporting to the Head of People Partnering, you will work closely with operational leaders to drive people strategies, foster a positive workplace culture, and support the achievement of business objectives.

Responsibilities
  1. Support in the delivery of the Group People Strategy in line with the Company’s vision and values.
  2. Act as a Business Partner for the business, ensuring pragmatic, commercial, and people-centric solutions to people-related problems, managing risk, and working within applicable regulatory and legal frameworks.
  3. Support and coach managers in dealing with complex people-related problems.
  4. Partner with leaders to lead large change programs, helping the business scale, understand, and support the opportunities and challenges for their teams.
  5. Deliver key People Initiatives across the People Spectrum, including workforce planning, restructuring, resourcing, talent management, pay and review, employee engagement, and performance management.
  6. Support the implementation of performance management processes, including setting objectives, conducting reviews, and providing feedback.
  7. Lead and support organizational change initiatives, helping employees adapt to changes, and ensuring smooth transitions.
  8. Drive data-led questioning, solutions, and decision-making through the utilization of People reporting capability.
Must-Haves
  • Experience within a People partner role or similar position.
  • Policy development, process review/design, continuous improvement methods.
  • Proven capability to lead, develop, and motivate individuals.
  • Understanding and appreciation of TUPE, restructuring, and redundancy.
  • Proven ability to define, scope, and deliver complex people change.
  • Experience in delivering programmes designed and developed by People Centres of Excellence.
  • Understanding of FCA and CMA regulations is desirable.
  • Experience of working collaboratively.
