Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Reading is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to operate across 17 sites in the South East and Northampton. The role involves partnering with senior leaders, delivering strategic and hands-on HR support, and travelling weekly to key sites.

You will drive employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning, while promoting a positive workplace culture and visible HR presence. The position offers a car/car allowance and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Support sites with employee satisfaction, performance, retention, and effective communication.
• Lead ER agenda and relationship management across key processes.
• Drive HR priorities including labour flexibility, payroll optimisation, and policy standardisation.
• Provide HR support to start-ups and business wins/losses/transfers.
• Ensure robust performance management including sickness, discipline and grievances.
• Assist managers with workforce planning, organisation design, and resourcing needs.
• Advise on HR policy compliance.

Role covers multi sites and multiple customer contracts across the South East and Northampton - Travel will be needed. Likely pattern 3 days onsite and 2 days offsite ( subject to need)

Are you an experienced HR Business Partner who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment? We're looking for a confident HR professional to join our team.

Partnering with senior leaders, you'll provide both strategic and hands‑on HR support across a workforce of colleagues covering 17 sites across the South East, you will need to travel to key sites weekly where you'll build strong relationships, drive engagement, and deliver practical people solutions that support business performance.

You'll bring strong employee relations experience, the ability to manage complex people matters, and a passion for coaching and developing managers.

What your day could involve

• Support with employee satisfaction, performance, retention and effective communication at sites.
• Support the ER agenda and lead / support relationships and key processes
• Deploy the Business HR Priorities, as directed e.g. labour flexibility, OMS, LPMC, payroll optimisation, T&C's standardisation.
• Provide HR support to start ups and business wins, losses and transfers.
• Ensure employee performance management (sickness, discipline, grievance) is robustly supported.
• Support managers to develop and deliver solutions for workforce planning and management including organisation design, forecasting resourcing needs, agency and identifying future talent requirements.
• Act as an advisor to managers to support compliance with HR policies.

• Strong HR Business Partner experience within a customer‑centric, operational environment
• Solid ER expertise across performance management, disciplinaries, grievances and attendance
• High energy with a genuine passion for culture, engagement and visible HR presence
• Credible influencer, able to challenge and support senior leaders
• Experience building management capability through coaching and pragmatic advice
• Resilient and adaptable, comfortable working at pace
• CIPD studying, qualified or equivalent level of professional HR knowledge
• Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels
