Job summary

Voyage-Care is seeking a proactive Junior HR Advisor – Employee Relations to support managers, coordinate HR activity and handle lower-level ER cases, ensuring compliant practice.

This hybrid role in Lichfield offers exposure to disciplinary, absence management, performance and probation reviews, alongside DBS processes and HR reporting. Ideal candidates have HR or admin experience, good IT skills, and a desire to learn in a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Previous HR or administrative experience (ideally within an HR environment).
• Understanding of employee relations processes (desirable).
• Knowledge of UK employment law (basic understanding desirable).
• CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the HR inbox, prioritising queries and directing cases appropriately across the HR team.
• Prepare and issue daily staff reports and HR case updates.
• Act as a point of contact for managers, providing guidance on disciplinary and grievance matters, absence management, performance and probation reviews, and flexible working requests.
• Manage lower-level employee relations cases from start to finish.
• Support managers with absence processes, including Occupational Health referrals where appropriate.
• Flag high-risk or safeguarding concerns to senior HR colleagues.
• Take minutes and support formal HR meetings.
• Prepare documentation including investigation packs, invite letters, and outcome letters.
• Maintain accurate HR records and update case management systems.
• Support DBS processes, including referrals and risk assessments.
• Assist with HR reporting, projects, and training delivery.
• Keep up to date with employment legislation and HR best practice.
