Job summary

The HR Assistant at United Infrastructure will provide efficient administrative and operational support to the HR/People team, covering recruitment, onboarding, employee records, payroll coordination and HR administration while maintaining confidentiality.

Join a dynamic, fast-paced company delivering infrastructure projects; you will coordinate induction programmes, assist with performance reviews and support employee engagement.

Qualifications

  • Experience in HR, administration or people support role.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • CIPD Level 3 qualification or working towards CIPD certification.
  • Experience within construction, infrastructure, utilities or engineering sectors.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding activities.

Responsibilities

  • HR Administration Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee personnel files and HR records.
  • Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, amendments and HR correspondence.
  • Update HR systems with employee information, absence, holidays and other employment changes.
  • Ensure all documentation is processed in line with company policies and data protection requirements.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding Assist with posting job vacancies and coordinating recruitment activities.
  • Arrange interviews and communicate with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Support pre-employment checks, right-to-work verification and onboarding documentation.
  • Coordinate induction programmes for new starters.
  • Employee Support Act as the first point of contact for routine HR queries from employees and managers.
  • Provide administrative support for probation reviews, performance reviews and employee development processes.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives and internal HR communications.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Payroll & Reporting Support Prepare monthly payroll information including starters, leavers and contractual changes.
  • Support HR reporting by producing accurate spreadsheets and workforce data.
  • Monitor absence records and assist with HR compliance reporting.

The HR Assistant will provide efficient administrative and operational support to the HR/People team, ensuring the smooth delivery of employee lifecycle processes across United Infrastructure. The role will support recruitment, onboarding, employee records, HR administration, payroll coordination and employee engagement while maintaining confidentiality and delivering excellent customer service to employees and managers.

Person Specification


  • Essential Previous experience in an HR, administration or people support role.

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
