HR Apprentice – £25,000 | Full-Time (37.5 hrs/week) | Aston-Based

Are you looking to start your career in HR with a hands-on, varied and supportive role? A well-established and respected organisation in Aston is seeking a highly organised and enthusiastic HR Apprentice to join their busy HR function, with a starting salary of £25k. There is also the possibility of being funded through your CIPD qualification.

This opportunity is ideal for someone looking to gain valuable experience within HR across the full employee lifecycle, with exposure to a wide range of HR administrative duties and systems. The successful candidate will be based at the Aston office, supporting multiple sites across the UK.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Monitoring and reporting on staff attendance, absences and timekeeping systems
  • Supporting payroll processes by preparing pay-related documentation and updating internal systems
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring compliance with audit and legal standards
  • Assisting with the administration of employee benefits, such as private healthcare and pensions
  • Providing regular reports and HR data insights on headcount, overtime, holiday balances and more
  • Coordinating recruitment admin tasks including interview arrangements and onboarding processes
  • Taking notes in formal HR meetings such as investigations and disciplinary hearings
  • Contributing to wider HR projects and system testing
  • Supporting employee lifecycle events such as maternity/paternity leave, probation reviews and exit processes

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Confident IT user, particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • A clear communicator who can work effectively with all levels of staff
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality
  • A self-starter who thrives in a busy team environment and is keen to learn
