Job summary

Howdens is seeking a Human Resources Advisor for Raunds, Northamptonshire, on a 9-month fixed-term contract. You will advise managers and colleagues on people matters, coach leaders, and partner with HR teams to deliver solutions across a fast-paced operation.

You will handle employee relations, support union engagement, analyse data to drive decisions, and influence stakeholders while contributing to a high-performing culture. Some travel to other sites is required.

Qualifications

• Generalist HR experience in a fast-paced operation.
• Employee relations experience, including complex cases.
• Experience with union engagement and consultation processes.
• Strong HR knowledge and current employment legislation.
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics or distribution is advantageous.
• Degree and CIPD membership in progress or obtained.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret people data and trends.
• Advanced IT skills: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to balance priorities and travel to other sites.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operational leaders to deliver people-focused solutions.
• Provide expert guidance on employee relations and ensure compliance.
• Build relationships with Trade Union representatives to support a positive climate.
• Analyse people data and trends to inform decisions.
• Influence and coach managers to achieve best outcomes.
• Support organisational change, engagement initiatives, and HR projects.
• Collaborate with Recruitment, Learning & Development and Employee Relations teams.
