Job summary

EA First in Newmarket is seeking a proactive HR Advisor on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover a full-time onsite role. You will lead recruitment, apprenticeships, learning and development, and immigration/sponsorship administration while delivering high-quality HR support to managers and staff.

Ideal candidates hold CIPD Level 5 or equivalent, with experience across ER casework, onboarding, and employment law. Join a collaborative team with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR generalist/advisory role and solid knowledge of UK employment law.
• ER casework, recruitment and onboarding experience is essential.
• CIPD Level 5 or equivalent, plus apprenticeship, L&D and sponsorship knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line HR guidance to managers and employees on policies and employment matters.
• Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding and pre-employment checks.
• Lead apprenticeship programmes, monitor compliance and funding.
• Coordinate Learning & Development initiatives and training activities.
• Oversee immigration & visa processes, sponsorships, secondments and reporting.
• Advise on disciplinary, capability, grievance, absence and conduct matters and support investigations.
