Job description

The Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a growing business based in London that is looking for an experienced and confident HR Advisor to join their people team. This is a generalist HR role with real breadth - you will be involved in everything from employee relations and performance management to policy development and recruitment support.

This is an opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to work in a business where the people function is genuinely valued and has a seat at the table.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on a wide range of people matters, including performance, absence, disciplinary, and grievance issues.

  • Support and coach line managers through HR processes, ensuring they are handled fairly, consistently, and in line with employment law and company policy.

  • Manage employee relations cases end-to-end, maintaining accurate records and documentation throughout.

  • Support the recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, coordinating interviews, and managing offers.

  • Assist with the development, review, and implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring they remain compliant and fit for purpose.

  • Support the delivery of HR projects and initiatives, including engagement surveys, wellbeing programmes, and learning and development activity.

  • Maintain accurate HR data and produce reports and MI as required.

  • Keep up to date with changes in employment legislation and best practice, advising the business accordingly.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in an HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.

  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.

  • Experience managing employee relations cases, including disciplinary and grievance procedures.

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards it - or equivalent experience.

  • Confident communicator with the ability to build credible relationships with managers and employees at all levels.

  • Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively.

  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to HR - you are here to help the business, not just apply the rulebook.

  • London-based or able to commute to London regularly.

What's On Offer

  • Salary of £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.

  • Hybrid working with genuine flexibility.

  • A broad and varied generalist HR role in a business that is growing and investing in its people function.

  • Supportive team environment with real opportunities to develop and progress.

  • Competitive benefits package including pension and generous holiday allowance.
