Job description

Job Title :Hr Advisor

Job Location : Glasgow

Job Type : Permanent

Job Salary : up to £33k + Pension + Life Insurance + CIPD Study Support + Company Bonus

Our client are seeking an HR Advisor to join their Business Support team based in Glasgow. The successful candidate will support the business as it enters a further period of growth, with responsibility for transactional HR activity and input into the continued development of HR policies and procedures which maintain our position as an employer of choice.

You will have the opportunity to interact with and directly influence all parts of the business, helping to shape the direction their staff offering to maximise efficiency and effectiveness, whilst ensuring that they remain compliant with applicable HR legislation.

What You'll Be Doing

Transactional HR Activity

  • Preparation of employment offer and contractual documentation
  • Onboarding and offboarding of all staff, including co-ordination of employee equipment with wider Business Support team, employee communications and legislative requirements (Right to Work, Driving Licences etc).
  • Ensure all employee documentation is stored in the relevant employee files within PeopleHR in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Monitoring of absence management process, ensuring that all required documentation is being uploaded to the PeopleHR system on a timely basis.
  • Monitoring and reporting of absence statistics.
  • Monitoring and reporting of staff training compliance statistics.
  • Completion and submission of monthly Payroll memo to external Payroll Bureau based on provided information (overtime, expenses, salary adjustments, new starters, leavers etc).
  • Ad-hoc completion of appropriate HR reports as and when required.

HR Expert Support

  • Providing guidance to line managers on the application of Company HR policies
  • Overseeing HR investigations and disciplinary procedures to ensure compliance with Company HR policies
  • Liaison with the Group Finance Director with regards to any complex queries or requests
  • Assisting line managers with recruitment processes to identify and employ new staff.
  • Assisting Group Finance Director with ongoing compliance in relation to our Home Office Sponsor Licence

HR Environment

  • Ensure that HR Policies are kept up to date and under periodic review in line with current legislation;
  • Development of new HR policies for Board review and approval, as required, to maximise effectiveness of the Company
  • Continued development of additional functionality and automation features of the PeopleHR system
  • Co-ordination and input into regular Company wide staff updates and communications.
  • Supporting Company CSR and well-being initiatives (e.g. charity initiatives, mental health awareness, salary extras etc)
What You Will Need
  • Ability to plan, organise, and manage time effectively
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracyPrevious HR experience, preferably from multi-site operations and engineering/construction background
  • Strong understanding of core HR legislative requirements.
  • CIPD Level 3 is a minimum requirement
  • Ability to work effectively with data. Strong Excel and HR system skills required.
  • Previous experience with PeopleHR system desirable
  • Adaptable and resilient with a positive outlook with a can-do attitude
  • Confidence and ability to network and influence people

This role is office based in Glasgow.
