Job summary

Phoenix Talent Network is hiring an HR Advisor for their Derby-based team. The role, reporting to the Head of HR, involves hands-on support across disciplinary, absence, recruitment and payroll processes, plus HR policy administration.

Ideal candidates will have around 3+ years of HR experience, strong people-facing skills, and a willingness to develop further in a supportive environment. CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HR experience across generalist activities.
• Strong communication and people skills with managers and staff.
• Experience with recruitment and onboarding processes.
• Familiarity with HR systems and payroll administration.
• CIPD qualification desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on HR support across the business.
• Manage disciplinary and grievance processes.
• Handle absence, capability, and performance management.
• Support recruitment and onboarding processes.
• Maintain HR policies, records and HRIS data.
• Contribute to payroll and benefits support and wellbeing initiatives.
• Lead HR projects and continuous improvement.

I’m currently recruiting for an HR Advisor to join a growing organisation based in Derby

This is a great opportunity for an HR professional looking to develop and take the next step.

You may already be working as an HR Advisor, HR Officer, HR Coordinator, HR Administrator, People Coordinator or similar.

The role

Working alongside the Head of HR, you’ll provide hands‑on HR support across the business, including:

• Disciplinary and grievance processes
• Absence and capability management
• Recruitment and onboarding
• HR policies and procedures
• Employee records and HR systems
• Payroll and benefits support
• Employee engagement and wellbeing
• HR projects and continuous improvement

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with around 3+ years’ HR experience who is confident dealing with people, comfortable supporting managers and keen to continue developing their HR career.

You’ll ideally have experience in:

• Employee relations
• HR administration
• Recruitment and onboarding
• Performance management
• HR systems / HRIS
• Advising managers and employees

CIPD qualified or currently working towards CIPD would be desirable, but practical HR experience is more important.
