Job summary

Mining Remediation Authority is seeking an HR Adviser to join the People and Organisational Development team in Mansfield with hybrid working (typically 1-2 days in the office).

You will provide practical HR advice, support managers and colleagues across the organisation, and manage a diverse employee relations caseload. In addition, you will help implement people policies, attend to attendance matters and contribute to colleague experience initiatives.

About You

Join our People and Organisational Development team and play a key role in supporting colleagues, advising managers and helping make the Mining Remediation Authority a great place to work.

You're someone who enjoys solving problems, building trusted relationships and making a positive difference in the workplace. You'll already have experience working in an HR advisory role and be confident providing practical advice and support across a range of people matters, making a positive contribution from the outset.

You’ll be comfortable managing a varied workload, handling sensitive information with discretion and supporting managers through employee relations matters. You’ll build strong relationships and deliver an excellent service through an organised, approachable and professional way of working.

This fixed-term opportunity until December 2027 offers the chance to broaden your HR experience across a wide range of people activity while working as part of a supportive and experienced People and Organisational Development team.

About The Role

As an HR Adviser, you'll be a key member of our People and Organisational Development team, providing practical advice and support to managers and colleagues across the organisation.

You’ll support a wide range of employee relations activity, including investigations, attendance management, formal meetings and the application of people policies and procedures. You'll help ensure people matters are managed fairly, consistently and in line with employment legislation, organisational policies and our values.

You’ll be confident managing your own employee relations caseload, knowing when to work independently and when to seek support from colleagues within the team.

Alongside employee relations work, you'll contribute to activities that help us understand and improve the colleague experience, including new starter check‑ins, apprenticeship reviews and exit interviews. You'll also manage the flexible working request process and support the delivery of people initiatives, improvement projects and People Plan activities.

Working closely with colleagues across the wider People and Organisational Development team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to a broad range of people activities and initiatives, giving you valuable exposure beyond employee relations while continuing to develop your professional skills and experience.

This is a varied and rewarding opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys employee relations but also wants to be part of a wider People and Organisational Development team. You'll work across a broad range of people activities, develop your expertise and make a meaningful contribution to the colleague experience.
