Job description

We are looking for an organised HR Administrator with a passion for making a difference to others.

You'll be working full time, 40 hours a week at Cygnet Hospital Bury (Hudson), helping ensure the safe and smooth running of services for the people in our care.

Previous administration experience is essential. This is a fast-paced demanding job that requires multitasking and liaising with a wide variety of people. Ability to use Microsoft Office, Excel, and other software systems is essential. Knowledge of mental health and experience working in administration or HR in a hospital setting is desirable.

Cygnet Bury Hudson provides a wide range of secure mental health services for men, including individuals with a diagnosis of personality disorder.

Each service user has a bedroom with en suite facilities and access to communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden, and woodland walkways down to Elton Reservoir.

Your day-to-day...

  • Take joint responsibility for recruitment and training administration processes for all staff at the hospital.
  • Keep HR systems and training databases fully updated with staff records, investigations, outcomes, grievances, and training data.
  • Provide administrative support to management for meetings, reports, and correspondence, including note-taking.
  • Support with absence management.
  • Attend weekly recruitment calls with recruitment and HR teams.
  • Prepare weekly compliance reports.
  • Provide data as needed for colleagues.
  • Assist managers with HR matters such as Occupational Health.
  • Present at new starter inductions.
  • Organize meetings such as absence review, disciplinary, welfare, and flexible working requests.
  • Send monthly training reminders to staff.
  • Extract training data as required.
  • Cover for the Finance Assistant as needed.
  • Act as the unit HR link for health and wellbeing programs and company benefits, including Employee Assistance Programme, rehabilitation services, maternity, healthcare, and pension and life cover information.
