Job summary

Travail employment group is seeking an HR Administrator in DN8 for a 12–18 month fixed term contract. The role supports the employee lifecycle, HR compliance and manager guidance, with opportunities for a permanent position thereafter.

The package includes on-site parking, and a mix of full-time or part-time hours within a Monday-to-Friday schedule. Responsibilities include recruitment coordination, contract preparation, onboarding and maintaining HR records in line with GDPR.

Qualifications

  • Experience in HR or related administration with knowledge of employment law.
  • Level 3 or 5 CIPD qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support across the employee lifecycle in HR.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities: job descriptions, adverts, interviews, offers.
  • Prepare contracts, onboarding docs and induction programs for new starters.
  • Maintain HR records in line with GDPR and legislation.
  • Support managers on absence, performance, disciplinary, grievance and capability matters.

HR Administrator - £28-30k

DN8, 12-18mth Fixed Term Contract

M-F, 8.30am to 5pm, full time or part time

Maternity Cover - 12 to 18 months, with the opportunity for a permanent position at the end of the contract! Full time or part-time hours discussed.

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HR Administrator for our client in DN8. The role provides administrative support throughout the employee lifecycle, ensuring HR compliance, maintaining accurate records, advising managers and employees, and promoting best practice in line with employment legislation and company procedures. The post holder will also support HR initiatives that enhance employee engagement and foster a positive workplace culture.

As the HR Administrator, you will support managers with all aspects of employee relations, including absence management, performance management, disciplinary, grievance and capability matters.

Coordinate recruitment and selection activities, including drafting job descriptions and adverts, arranging interviews and preparing offer documentation.

Prepare employment contracts, onboarding documentation and induction programmes for new starters.

Manage employee lifecycle administration, including starters, changes to employment and leavers.

Maintain accurate HR records and systems in accordance with GDPR and employment legislation.

Provide guidance and support to managers regarding company policies, procedures and employment legislation.

Monitor legislative changes and support implementation of any required updates to company policies and practices.

Support employee engagement, wellbeing and development initiatives across the business.

Report any HR risks, concerns or compliance matters to the Managing Director.

Level 3 or 5 CIPD qualification or equivalent experience.

Proven experience in an administrative role within human resources or related fields with knowledge of human resources policies, procedures and employment law as an advantage.

Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and prioritise tasks efficiently while managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Professionalism, discretion and the ability to manage confidential information appropriately.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams.

The HR administrator position is fixed term, between 12 and 18 months and can be full-time or part-time depending on discussions with the employer. Other benefits include:

Salary: £28,000-£30,000 depending on experience, skills and abilities.

Holidays: 20 days plus bank holidays and 3 days at Christmas, increasing with service to 25 days plus bank holidays and 3 days at Christmas.
