Job summary

Red Bull Technology is offering an undergraduate placement in Milton Keynes to join the HPC and Technical Platforms team. You will learn how large-scale compute, storage and platform technologies support simulation and engineering workloads.

Expect hands-on work with Linux systems, compute clusters, automation and monitoring, with mentoring from experienced engineers. The role emphasizes learning, curiosity and collaboration in a championship team.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate technical degree (CS/IT/SE/EE).
• HPC experience not required.
• Curious, analytical and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day operation and monitoring of HPC compute, storage and platform services.
• Support Linux-based systems: administration, patching, troubleshooting and health checks.
• Investigate user issues with engineering workloads, job scheduling, performance and access to HPC services.
• Develop scripts and simple automation using Python, Bash, Git or Ansible.
• Contribute to monitoring, reporting and analysis of system utilisation, availability and performance.
• Participate in testing, benchmarking and proof-of-concept activities.
• Assist with installation, configuration and fault diagnosis of servers, storage and networking equipment in the datacentre.
• Maintain clear technical documentation, operational procedures, asset records and knowledge articles.
• Work with HPC engineers, platform engineers, software developers and engineering users to deliver reliable, secure and supportable services.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability, performance, automation and the user experience.
• Take an active role in team projects, planned changes and continuous improvement activities.
