Job summary

Red Bull Technology is offering an undergraduate placement in Milton Keynes within the High-Performance Computing and Technical Platforms team. You will work with engineers to design, operate and improve compute, storage and platform technologies supporting simulation and analytics workloads.

The role is hands-on, exposing you to Linux systems, compute clusters, storage, networking, automation and monitoring.

Qualifications

Studying CS/IT/SE or related technical degree; HPC experience not required.
Interest in high-performance computing, engineering workloads and platforms.

Responsibilities

Assist with day-to-day operation and monitoring of HPC compute, storage and platform services.
Support Linux-based systems: administration, patching, troubleshooting and health checks.
Investigate user issues with workloads, scheduling, performance and access.
Develop scripts in Python/Bash and automate using Git/Ansible.
Contribute to monitoring, reporting and analysis of system utilisation and performance.
Participate in testing, benchmarking and proof-of-concept activities.
Assist with installation, configuration and fault diagnosis of servers, storage and networking in the datacentre.
Maintain technical documentation, procedures, asset records and knowledge articles.
Collaborate with HPC engineers, platform engineers and software developers.
Identify opportunities to improve reliability, performance and user experience.
Engage in team projects and continuous improvement activities.
