Job summary

Arden Resourcing Limited is seeking an HPC Computational Engineer to join a leading scientific computing team in Oxfordshire. You will develop high-performance software, implement numerical algorithms and contribute to large-scale simulations on modern HPC infrastructure.

The role blends hands-on coding with shaping computational strategy, requires strong C/C++/Fortran or Rust, MPI/OpenMP, Linux, and a passion for solving challenging technical problems.

Qualifications

• Strong programming experience in C++, C, Fortran or Rust with Python scripting.
• Hands-on HPC experience and extensive Linux/UNIX knowledge.
• Proficiency in numerical methods and scientific algorithms.
• Experience delivering production-grade, performance-oriented software.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimise and maintain high-performance scientific software.
• Design and implement numerical algorithms for complex problems.
• Build and improve large-scale modelling and simulation apps.
• Evaluate new HPC technologies including accelerator-based computing.
• Improve software performance, scalability and efficiency across parallel environments.
• Contribute to advanced simulation frameworks and virtual modelling.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists, providing technical direction.
• Mentor junior engineers and explore new computational approaches.
